I bought this bag for traveling. It is not very comfortable, the shoulder straps feel like they are filled with packing paper, and compared to similar priced bags the material is cheap. It looks great and has plenty of storage. I was replacing a 5 year old Targus Port Bag. Due to the edition of roller gear on the new port bags I decided to go with another bag. For my needs, I should have gone with a different company. Also to note is that the storage is great however, a fully packed bag will not fit in the over head bin of a smaller jet airliner.

Wow. I was just browsing my purchases from 2004 and realized that I bought this backpack that long ago! In the years since, this bag has safely transported a number of sensitive electronic devices not only all over the country but also to several destinations in Europe! It's strong, versatile, resists tears and stains. There are more pockets than you would believe and I often "lose" things in there because I've forgotten that a stash pocket even exists! The padded back compartment is ideal for laptops up to about 16 inches.



These days I've sized down on my gadgets - though I have more of them! My netbook easily fits in the rear compartment along with my Kindle and other electronics, even with them all housed in their own individual protective pouches. Needless to say, I still use this bag for traveling.



This has been a great purchase. I recently gave my old laptop to my step-daughter and my husband asked me if I was going to giver her this bag as well. I looked at him like he was crazy! Let her get her own bag! This one is MINE! :)

It's not often you buy something twice. Frankly, most products just aren't that good, or they're no longer available by the tie you need another one.



This one's different.



Teens today carry a lot of books in school and have little time to visit lockers between classes. I've picked up my two sons' backpacks, and they weigh a ton! I bought this model 2.5 years ago for my older son. After his 9th and 10th year of school, the zipper tore out. I contacted Targus and they replaced it, under warranty, after I shipped the first one back.



So when his younger brother needed a new backpack, I was thrilled to find this model still available. This appears to be the largest backpack made, as well as the sturdiest, and certainly with the most effective warranty. If you need room (in high school the books are fat), look for "depth" and not just height x width alone. I found plenty of packs to accommodate wide-screen laptops, but none with the depth of this model. It has a number of useful pockets and zipper sections inside. More organization is better.



The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that it comes in one color. We tied a kerchief onto the new one, so we don't mix the two up.



I may get one of these for myself. Gotta get another handkerchief.

I can't tell you how delighted I am by this sassy little bag that snugly houses my Samsung N120 netbook! If you don't know, the N120 is one of the larger netbooks and I was concerned when I ordered this bag that it may not fit. I was very gratified to find that not only does it fit snugly and securely on its own inside this bag, but I can also slip my netbook into the black security envelope it came with and still fit it in this bag! As the material is flexible, it easily stretches to conform to the size and shape of what you put inside. However, I don't think it will accommodate a netbook much larger than my N120 (11.9 x 9.6 x 5 inches) very well.



There's a separate compartment housing 2 pockets for accessories. My battery and cords would likely fit, though they would cause an ugly bulge! They do fit other items such as a digital camera, iPhone, Blackberry (any cellphone, really) or even a USB 10-Key number pad. On a recent trip, I used the bag as a purse alternative and easily fit business cards, ID, credit cards and money into these pockets. I can also easily slip my Kindle in with my netbook (in the compartment with the device, not in one of the pockets) and carry both over my shoulder in one attractive and secure package!



There is an adjustable shoulder strap that is also removable. While the clasps for this strap are plastic, it seems to be a strong a durable plastic that has shown no signs of weakness. It is also comfortable to carry this bag by the reinforced sewn-in handle though it feels a little stretchy (which can be a little disconcerting at first). The inside compartment is secured by a strong zipper that runs the length of the bag. As my laptop is one of the larger varieties, I make sure I am careful when navigating around the zipper at insertion or when zipping it closed, that I don't scratch it. I don't mind this small responsibility and figure that my careful attention is the least I can do to protect my investments! When I am also using the black padded envelope that came with my Samsung, this becomes a moot issue.



The material is the same material they use to manufacture wetsuits. I love this as it provides a moisture barrier for your machine and other contents in the event of rain or an accidental spill. (It would NOT protect against submersion!) I would also imagine that it is fairly stain resistant. The material provides soft, thick and lightweight cushioned layers of protection for your valuable electronic items. They offer this bag in several other colors and patterns though I personally love the micro-dot!



When I took this bag on a trip recently, it easily fit down inside my backpack. In fact, it was also extremely easy to remove it from my backpack by virtue of the handles sewn in to the top. In my opinion, this bag is an ideal alternative/replacement for any padded sleeve/compartment that is intended to be inserted into any other bag whether it's a backpack, briefcase, purse or eco-friendly carryall. This bag delivers a lot of protection, versatility, good engineering and a dose of personality while adding very little weight to your everyday load. It's machine washable, lays flat when not in use and could easily be rolled up for storage.

This great little machine has replaced my desktop PC. It's easy to plug in my desktop monitor, wireless keyboard & mouse, and speakers. Being rural, I use my cell phone for internet access so I can unplug from home and be on the road in seconds.



I did experience a hard drive problem, as others have mentioned. Asus customer service far exceeded my expectations. A quick phone call and I had an authorization number and sent it off. I had it back, good as new within a week. I'll even give them extra points for being environmentally aware. They shipped it back in the same box with the same packing materials!



I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Asus product.

I bought this computer about 6 months ago to complement/safeguard/backup my digital photographs during travel. After a 2,800 X 10Mp photo tour of Italy, it joined a household of 4 people with 9 other computers. Since then, another family member bought an Asus Eee for personal use. Our first home computer was put into service in 1981 and 3 of us are IT professionals, so we demand price/performance and have upgraded constantly for over 25 years.



The machine is compact, yet reasonably powerful and easy to use with good WiFi capabilities, very good battery life (stock battery >4 hours, larger add-on $70 runs it around 9 hours), nice built-in webcam & microphone, sufficient memory (but for $30, I upgraded to a 2Gb module), and even an SD slot, making it easy to download and store my photos on the 160Gb internal drive. I was also impressed with the video board, which can drive the screen beyond its physical dimensions AND run a second monitor for added desktop real-estate at 1600x1200 & 32m colors. I recommend an external USB mouse, which is faster than the touch pad (but on airplanes, the touch pad is actually easier unless you're sitting next to someone who likes rodents moving on his/her lap).



My only operational issue is the right "Shift" key, which is the same size as the letter keys and at the right edge of the keyboard. Therefore, my little pinky seems to hit the "^" key more often than "Shift" until I've been using it for a little while each time. If it were my only keyboard, I'm sure I would get used to it and not have a problem in a couple of days.



Yes, for editing photos and videos, gaming, streaming Slingbox HD TV, and doing other heavy computational jobs, I use a 64-bit quad processor machine, but the Eee is fine for normal use and SUPER for traveling. It's also handy to have sitting near the TV to look up shows, actors, etc., while viewing the tube.

I followed instructions on Acer's website to no avail, the website KNEW the situation required service ... SOOOO I called tech support and I was told "Sorry" you net book went out of of warranty on 10/7/2009!? (I ordered it 10/15/2008). If you want to send it in for repair it will call $200.00 !"



I was floored.. and saddened, as the webcam broke just before I had it for a year, I was out of town on a business trip and called them when I got home. I guess this is the first and last ACER I buy.



It has worked okay on my road trips other then on occasion the wireless fails and I have to reboot. Now the webcam needs service... makes it hard to skype my family when I travel.. This really sucks....

I bought this product in April, 2009. I began to use it in May, and I must admit from the moment I started it up it seemed a little slow. I thought it was just because it was loading everything for the first time, but my sisters seemed to think it should have been better. Well, it went strong for a little while, but then quickly deteriorated. It began to get really slow, and then the odd time wouldn't let me open my files. My picture, computer, all of those. Then it wouldn't let me open them at all. Said there was a error with windows, and that I needed to send and error report, but if i tried to send the error report my whole computer would freeze, and I'd need to restart. My computer became very slow, and now it won't even turn on! It's been that way for about 2 months now, and every time I try to turn it on it flashed a blue screen error. Unfortunately, I had a lot of pictures and files on it. I wouldn't recommend this product. It definitely brought Acer down in my estimation.

Pros:

Battery life last a long time. I would say it averages about 6 hours.

Price. Affordable.

Small and lightweight. I can carry it easily with books in my bag. My other laptop consumes a lot of space and weighs twice as much.

Never had a problem with it.



Cons:

Small was a pro, but also a con. Typing in long intervals can become a pain due to the small key board.

I wouldn't recommend this if it's your only computer due to the keyboard size.

If you don't lay it on a hard flat surface, this baby gets hot. Since the exhaust vents are along the bottom, if you place this on a soft surface (your lap, the couch, your bed, a pillow, etc.) it cannot vent properly. I would bet that's why some people rated this so low claiming failure. The motherboard probably overheated.



I love it, and if you treat this laptop with some common sense you will love it too.



**Note, I wouldn't necessary call this a "netbook" due to the lack of a solid state hard drive. Due to its size people call it as such, but actually, it's just a small laptop. You won't find a 160gb netbook, solid state laptop for this price!

I've had this mouse for a little over 7 months now, and I absolutely love it for my laptop. It works on various surfaces, including jeans or khaki pants, so if you're sitting in a love seat, you can just use your leg to mouse around on.



My only complaint is that the wheel doesn't click, but that's a minor inconvenience compared to using the nearly worthless track pad on my laptop.

This is a fine idea, but alas, no cigar. I bought this with the notion that if it didn't work out, I wouldn't be out much. And sure enough - it didn't work out. It didn't last long enough for me to get used to it. It worked for about two hours before it gave out. The cursor all of a sudden flew to the upper left corner where it stayed. And since its PnP (no driver) its unfixable. $10 down the drain. Neat idea, but don't do it. Too cheesy.

The bag is great, and has just enough style on a college campus. But it does have some quirks. First of all the locking mechanism can be troublesome at times but still it never takes long to get it through (and is a really unique way of holding your stuff inside). Aside from that, the padded laptop section isn't very padded. It's more like a very thin foam sheet filled membrane that partitions the bag rather then protect the contents within that section.

This bag is perfect for my laptop and every day stuff. The strap is a bit annoying to get "theaded" so I don't usually latch it. The velcro keeps it shut. Lots of pockets and storage!

I ordered this bag because of some of the reviewers saying that it was so big that it could fit a 17" (thank you thank you thank you for writing that). NOW I know what they are talking about. It really Does have a lot of room (without sacrificing snugness) & the dimensions of the interior computer compartment are a bit bigger than some of the other ones by case logic for a 15.4" computer bag. It fits my 16" HP perfectly fine with some room to spare it looks like. No problems getting it in & out either. It looks soooo awesome for a computer bag too. It would be cool to see even More cool bags in the future (in the same PRICE range) from these people because I like mine so much. It looks like a messenger bag, it's made pretty tough it looks like (I still have a couple of canvas purses made similarly to this & I used the crap out of them & they still look fine), & it has a lot of extra space too (everywhere). Because it looks like a messenger instead of a laptop bag, maybe it is a little safer from people who may want to steal it (perhaps to try & pay for school!). BUT it doesn't leave my sight in the first place. Just walking around school, it's not like a big advertisement though. Not like I need to get mugged in the college parking lot for my laptop, lol. Anyway, this is a great bag for me. The latch dingy took a little getting used to & sometimes when I'm in a hurry, I will leave it undone & it Does have this clack when you walk with it. Overall, these things don't matter much to me. My computer feels like it is safe in there with it latched & fairly safe without it (I like the interior velcro strap). No zippers, I like. I really Don't want my nice polished looking cover on my laptop to get scratched up just taking it in & out of the bag that is supposed to be protecting it. The fold-in flaps that you have on the top of the sides instead seem to work just fine from keeping things out.



Oh, & this bag also saved my 'quasi-expensive' laptop with the 1080p screen on it one night. While at my boyfriend's one night, I put my laptop between the bed & the nightstand sitting vertically before going to bed. In the middle of the night, I wake up to his mom talking about the toilet overflowing with his dad. And I look down & the floor is Entirely covered with about an inch of water... I immediately grabbed my computer (in the bag) up off the floor to see if it got water. It did. I took it out. No dripping from it. A slight moist feel was on the side that was on the floor. I wiped it. I started it up & it was fine. The bag & the bag's nice thick padding had absorbed all the water & kept it from hurting (or killing) my computer!!!! When I looked inside the bag, it was moist (really really Really moist/damp/wet - half way or more up the bag), but not dripping wet, even at the bottom where it'd been on the floor. I was SOOO relieved, especially seeing as the computer AND the bag were brand spanking new! So, the padding is very nice in this thing;> I love it. It is thick & nice & it saved my computer!! Not in the way you would think, but it did! So I washed my bag real good & set it in the sun to dry, & I use it every day to keep my computer safe from the variety of things around the house & otherwise that could hurt it. I love this bag!! And no more laptop bag on floor - ever! I was just worried about the cat sitting on it & squishing my 'glass' screen in! Now I know you also have to watch out for the flood of the century coming out of the toilet! I've never seen one overflow worse than that in my whole life (I'm 25) & amazingly enough, my killer laptop is still being used right now to write ya'll this review. PLEASE have more of these bags, Case Logic, by the time I am ready for my next one!!! And thank you for saving my poor computer (which is my LIFE)! And thank you Amazon for getting it here within about a day, because my laptop arrived way early & it got here Just in time!
